The pickle returns.
Monster Hunter World will receive a major free update on March 22, most notably adding classic monster Deviljho. Capcom has also announced future events and new items, including a Mega Man crossover.
Announced in a Capcom livestream, Deviljho itself, Deviljho quests, and all its associated rewards will be dropped into the game with the update.
Other major changes include reduced loading times, the ability to return to the Gathering Hall multiplayer area after a quest, alongside a raft of balance tweaks to almost all of the game’s 14 weapon types. You can also now no longer be hit by fellow players’ attacks while carving.
A slightly more controversial addition is the ability to alter your character’s physical appearance – but that will only be free once, after which it will become a microtransaction.
Also coming is the Spring Blossom Fest, an event running from April 6-20, which gives the Gathering Hall a flowery makeover, complete with a giant Poogie lantern and nighttime firework shows.
The Fest will bring back some discontinued event quests, and offer players two Lucky Voucher items for every Daily Login.
During the same time period, a new rocket-powered Great Sword weapon, the Wyvern Ignition will also be available, presumably earned through an event quest. Wyvern Ignition was designed as part of the series’ traditional fan design contest. A series of new dance emotes were also shown off.
Also shown off was a retro Mega Man outfit and weapon for Palicoes, arriving on April 13. The skin turns your cat-warrior into the original, blocky Mega Man.
Announced yesterday, we also know that the game will receive Devil May Cry crossover DLC at an unspecified date in the future.
